"Altering The Way You View The World Of Art"
Type of Object:
    Ivory Bracelet

This georgeous old pre-ban African Ivory bracelet.  It has a
wonderful dark patina from many years of wear.

Ivory was highly valued among the Africans for the difficulties
involved in acquiring the tusks, the knowledge required to cut and
carve the material, and the demand the European traders placed
both the raw and finished pieces. Common tribal members were
forbidden to possess ivory without a Chief’s permission and ivory
therefore became the money of Chief’s and Kings.
