    original 1950's field acquisition.  

    The Lobi people occupy the southwestern part of
    Burkina Faso. The tribes had emigrated from Ghana
    in the last quarter of the 18th century. Artistic works
    produced by the Lobi are stylistically distinguishable
    on their own and some pieces are quite unique.
