    of the Dogon. Characteristic of the Dogon style of
    ironsmithing are the linear and abstract lines combined with
    wonderful curvilinear shapes.  Iron-smithing is a skilled craft
    carried out by an exclusive caste the " forgeron", he is also
    the carver of ritual masks.
